Kids in the Sun - A Pediatric Practice in Broadview Heights and Strongsville, Ohio
A University Hospitals Rainbow Care Network Member
As Physicians and Nurse Practitioners dedicated to the field of pediatrics, we provide well child and preventative care for your children as well as treatment for both acute and chronic illnesses.
Patient Phone Calls
During office hours, an experienced phone triage handler will take
calls to assist in scheduling an appointment, answering simple questions
or directing you to our billing office. After our office closes, we
provide telephone coverage 24-hours a day, seven days a week, using the
nurse-on-call service at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies &
Children's Hospital together with our physician-on-call.
For newborn, infant well-child care visits, sports, school and camp
physical exams and general check-ups, we recommend appointments be made
at least 2 to 4 weeks in advance to ensure the requested date, time and
health care provider is available.
Sick Patient Care
Same-day sick visits are scheduled on the day of the call. If a child
is ill, he or she will be seen at one of our offices that day, with
appointment. We will see patients in evening hours as needed depending on the number of sick visits that are scheduled.
Prescriptions & Refills
In general, prescriptions for medications are not called in without a
physician seeing and examining the patient first. Refill prescriptions
for chronic medications (other than antibiotics) will be called in to a
pharmacy within 24 hours.
Lab, X-ray and Test Results
All labs, X-ray and test results will be discussed with the patient's
family within a reasonable amount of time of arriving in our office,
usually within 24 hours.
We are happy to fill out forms for school physicals, sports physicals, work permits, and other forms. We do ask that you give us up to 7 days to collect the necessary information and have the provider complete and sign the forms.
Our physicians are on the clinical teaching faculty of Case Western
Reserve University School of Medicine. They are also attending staff at
UH Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital and Southwest General Hospital. Our clinical nurse practitioners are on the
teaching faculties of several local schools of nursing.
All medical information is held in strictest confidence in full
accordance with all current regulations regarding medical records. All
medical records will be released only with the signed consent of the
child's parent or legal guardian.
All co-pay payments are expected at the time of service. You will
receive a monthly statement for all outstanding balances. Any questions
regarding an account can be directed to our billing office staff at 440-526-0734.
Insurance/Help with Forms
We accept most forms of insurance and have an experienced staff of
insurance specialists who will assist individuals as much as possible
with processing claims.
